I STILL cannot believe we only got one season of 'Elfin Lied'. SO MUCH DEPTH IN AN ANIME SERIES! I should get around to reading manga.
Lucy is the main protagonist, created in a lab by humans. She is a powerful Diclonius - a humanoid born with horns and with extraordinary powers to kill and survive - yet she is not always able to cope with the destruction she has to unleash on her would-be captors - so she sometimes reverts to her alternate personality Nyu (Who is the very last word in innocence and adorableness) Sent to capture them is Nana, a much more housetrained Diclonius who seeks approval from her 'father' the scientist who created her.
(I own none of the footage or songs I just like to play with them like they are in a huge sandbox.)
