Now, this guy was a major jerk, but just because he shot our buddy WD away, doesn't mean it was a betrayal.
They never liked each other, and when he got this stupid power, instead of confronting WD immediately, he instilled an era of pure terror upon him. (Even Riptor would be jealous! (Probably.))
Eventually there was a confrontation but like,

This very event is what gave WD his uncontrollable abilities, but also what made it so painful for him.
