In the world of financial planning itโ€™s generally considered a best practice to keep all comparisons between different financial choices as equal and balanced as you realistically can. In other words, comparisons should be kept apples to apples whenever possible.

And in a lot of cases (in fact in the majority of cases) that is a good rule to abide by. However, every once in a while a situation comes along where an apples to oranges comparison (while unconventional) may be more apt. Today we talk about some of those situations and why they come about.
