The passenger railroad SMART has recently bought out NWP (Northwestern Pacific). NWP is now under SMART operations which is frowned upon by most. Thankfully, the operations side of things are the same. Though, the locomotives now have the "SMAR" reporting mark instead of "NWP." The SMAR/NWP 1501 locomotive is their workhorse, going out on all switching duties. There is also a genset that is hardly ever used because, well, it is a genset. Anyways, this video covers two Friday afternoons where they make the trip from Schelville to Napa (Lombard yard). That is where they drop off/pick up cars that are interchanged with the California Northern Railroad. The CFNR then interchanges with UP in Fairfield, CA. Lots of sharing of cars and freight happens in the short distances of these railroads. So, enjoy the chasing!
