In part 2 we follow the BNSF Scenic Sub over Stevens Pass to Dryden on the east slope. I highly recommend a stay at the Cascadia Inn in Skykomish to railfan the area. We stayed there two nights absorbing the ambiance of the town which is a neat and well kept place. I also recommend the Whistling Post for refreshments, and be sure to check out the bar footrail made from real rail from the original Stevens Pass line. Both locations have excellent food.
