My wife Sarah wanted a chicken coop. Built before the treehouse, this is my first attempt at carpentry and I used a lot of my fine woodworking skills for the project.
I have never built a chicken coop before, and enjoyed the challenge of learning what a coop needs in order to be successful in a region where the average seasonal snowfall is 150 inches and temperatures range from below 0°F to over 90°F with humidity ranging from nothing in winter to near 100% at times in the summer.
With the conclusion of our first full winter with the coop, the designs have proven very well suited to our needs.
