Normality is a 3D first person adventure game made and published by Gremlin Interactive. It was released in 1996.
The story revolves around Kent Knutson, a rebellious teenager in the city of Neutropolis, from which various places take up the setting of the game. Neutropolis is a dark and polluted police state in which any kind of fun is prohibited. When the game begins, Kent is released after having been imprisoned by the "Norms", the city's police force, for whistling a happy tune while walking down the street. While in prison, he receives a note from an anonymous inmate telling him about the underground insurrection group that he might want to join.
After being released from jail, the player starts the game in Kent's apartment, having to go find and join this resistance group. After winning the trust of the resistance group Kent must assist them in overthrowing the dictator Paul who is responsible for the city's sorry state, in which his twin brother Saul was rumored to be dead because of him.
Normality was self-published in the United Kingdom by Gremlin Interactive. It had a small credited voice cast. Interplay handled publishing duties in the US and decided to entirely replace the voice cast with a broader range of actors that it felt would appeal more to the US market. This included casting Corey Feldman in the role of the main character.
All cut-scenes in the game are pre-rendered. The game's engine was later used in the game Realms of the Haunting. It was re-released in 2011 with Windows support on GOG.com, with macOS support following in 2013 and Linux support in 2014.

![Darkstone - Gameplay [HD]
Darkstone is an action role-playing game made by Delphine Software International and published by Gathering of Developers. It was released in 1999.
In the distant past a corrupt monk, Draak, turned against the goddess of light, Kaliba, and turned himself into a dragon. However, he was eventually thwarted from destroying the world via the Time Orb, created from seven of Kalibas tears. To protect the Time Orb from Draaks followers, it was split apart again by Kalibas monks and the seven crystals hidden across the four lands of Uma.
Beginning in an unnamed village, the player can choose from a range of characters (warrior/Amazon, wizard/sorceress, assassin/thief and monk/priestess) and from here they quest across the four lands of Uma - Ardyl, Marghor, Omar and Serkesh - to solve quests, kill the evil creatures roaming the lands and delve into dungeons to locate the seven crystals to form the Time Orb.
Gameplay revolves around improving the character stats of strength, magic, dexterity and vitality as well as the characters gear, weapons, magical knowledge, etc. The four lands of Uma increase in difficulty and are accessed sequentially, with different enemies patrolling the lands and dungeons beneath.
The village acts as an initial training area with firing ranges and example weapons, then subsequently as a trade base for adventurers to sell their loot, bank their cash, buy upgrades, repair armour and weaponry, buy new spellbooks and stock up on health and mana potions as well as food (characters can die from hunger). It is possible to pick up cursed items, such as a cloak that makes the player randomly drop items from their inventory, so a shopkeeper can remove these for you. Finally, if the player wants to hear a song about the Darkstone, they can toss a coin to the singer Audren.
Magic can be learnt by all characters, via finding or buying spellbooks, with 32 potential spells of varying difficulty. A variety of skills can also be learnt, such as thieving from other characters, repairing your own gear, disarming traps, etc. Spells and skills can be acquired by all character types apart from lycanthropy, which can only be learnt by the sorceress. This allows her to change into a werewolf and converts all magic stat points to strength points.
Quests for each new game are randomly selected from 20 options, with different dungeon placement and land layouts, improving the games replayability. The PC version allows the player to control two characters, switching between them at will, though the Playstation version only allowed for a single character.

Tarfful has been rescued but there is more going on than just a simple slaver attack. General Grievous was identified and the Trandoshans are working together with Separatist forces. They set up a supply base in the jungle which must be destroyed.

![Chasm: The Rift - Gameplay [HD]
Chasm: The Rift is a first-person shooter game made by Action Forms and published by Megamedia. It was released in 1997.
Development of the game, initially titled Tron: The Hammer of War, began in the mid-1990s by a group of students from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, inspired by Doom from id Software. The development process extended over several years, during which the games title, script, and graphics underwent changes. The publisher was found through the internet: United States–based Megamedia Corporation took on publishing the game.
The game is set across various locations, including military bases, ancient Egyptian tombs, medieval settings, and an alien world. Players assume the role of an elite soldier tasked with single-handedly combating evil forces that infiltrate from the past and future through temporal portals.
Gameplay consists of firefights in narrow, maze-like levels. Enemies possess high firepower, necessitating constant player movement and use of cover. A notable feature is the ability to shoot off different body parts of monsters, who continue fighting even with severed limbs. In addition to regular enemies, boss battles conclude each episode, requiring specific tactics to defeat them. The narrative unfolds through briefings and radio communications between non-player characters between levels. The game offers both single-player and multiplayer modes.
Chasm: The Rift received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its detailed monsters, weapon design, and certain technical features. However, the games simple level design and somewhat unoriginal gameplay prevented it from competing with more prominent first-person shooters of the era. In 2022, 25 years after its initial release, Chasm: The Rift was re-released for Windows with improved graphics and controls. In May 2023, it was ported to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

![The Catacomb Abyss - Gameplay [HD]
The Catacomb Abyss is a first-person shooter made and published by Softdisk. It was released in 1992.
Catacomb Abyss is the fourth entry in the Catacomb series of video games. Its predecessor, Catacomb 3-D, was developed by id Software as part of a contract with Softdisk. When the contract ended, Softdisk kept ownership of both the 3D engine as well as the intellectual property of Catacomb 3-D. The company formed a new, in-house team to develop three sequels, known as the Catacomb Adventure Series. This trilogy consists of Catacomb Abyss, Catacomb Armageddon and Catacomb Apocalypse.
The plot is a continuation of the events in Catacomb 3-D. The player again takes the role of the high wizard Petton Everhail. After the death of arch-rival Nemesis, his minions construct a mausoleum near the Towne Cemetery to honor their deceased master. Soon evil forces start to emerge around the mausoleum. It is once again up to Petton Everhail to end the terror with the use of his magic spells. The gameplay consists of navigating through the town cemetery, the mausoleum and other environments, while battling the servants of Nemesis with magic spells. Keys need to be collected to unlock doors. The game also contains an item shaped like an hourglass, which temporarily freezes time when picked up.
The gameplay borrows many elements from Catacomb 3-D. The player searches for keys in a maze to unlock doors that grant access to the next level. To aid navigation, each area within a level has a short description, which is displayed on the interface. The player can shoot magic missiles from its hand to eliminate enemies and to destroy breakable wall segments.
The game contains sixteen regular levels. The final level contains instructions to warp to any level, including three secret levels. Whereas the levels in Catacomb 3-D consisted of mostly dungeons, the levels in Catacomb Abyss bring more varied environments. There are outdoor levels with lightning, an ancient aqueduct flooded with water and hellish corridors with pulsing walls. The five types of enemies from Catacomb 3-D return in Catacomb Abyss, along with several new enemies. Some of these can pop up unexpectedly, such as zombies that rise from the ground and skeleton warriors that emerge from a dirt wall.
Just like in its predecessor, the player can pick up bolts, nukes and potions, although they are renamed into respectively Zappers, Xterminators and Cures. Functionally they behave the same: a Zapper generates a stream of magic missiles, an Xterminator shoots magic missiles in a circular pattern and a Cure restores the players health back to 100%. There are also treasure chests which provide a random combination of these three items. The player can carry a maximum of 99 of each item. Items can be accidentally destroyed when hit by a magic missile.
Catacomb Abyss introduces a radar called the Crystal Sphere, which shows the magic missiles and nearby enemies. Initially enemies will not show up on the Crystal Sphere. The player can collect up to a total of five gems to unlock the visibility of enemy types on the Crystal Sphere. The game also introduces an item shaped like an hourglass. When picked up, time temporarily freezes. This enables the player to line up many magic missiles in front of frozen enemies, which will get hit once time resumes.
With around 3000 subscribers, the disk magazine Gamers Edge never became a commercial success. Therefore, after having witnessed the success of the shareware title Commander Keen, Softdisk management decided to adopt the shareware model for Catacomb Abyss. Gamers could freely play and distribute the shareware version of Catacomb Abyss. Included with the shareware version was an electronic catalog, which advertised the registered version of Catacomb Abyss, as well as the two sequels Catacomb Armageddon and Catacomb Apocalypse. Customers could call Softdisk to order these three games. The registered version of Catacomb Abyss comes packaged with a hint manual, but otherwise contains the same set of levels as the shareware version.
