An exact 3 minute improvement over my first speedrun attempt.
It turns out my assumptions from that previous personal best were off by at least a minute. After doing this, I now think that a perfect warlock could manage this in about 14 minutes or less. I also think with better execution and using blink to get through the barriers at the start of the Crota fight (nuanced, but tested and workable), this could be done a minute faster as a hunter as well. I guess a hunter can do it just as fast as a warlock but their reliability for a one sword kill seems markedly lower to me.
Unfortunately, the sheer difficulty of making those runs happen will definitely keep out all but the most experienced PvE players on Destiny. The reason a warlock can hypothetically go a minute faster than a hunter is that they can do a single sword Crota kill. If someone thinks they can beat my time on this run, please do so, because the whole community could really use some super competitive people to find new glitches and exploits.
