According to someone I spoke with, two freight trains were moving onto the Perryville wye at the same time around midnight. I've never seen this, but it is possible - there's quite a bit of double track past the Otsego Street crossing. One derailed, causing a collision with the other. As of 6am, the one on the southern leg of the wye had already been towed back to Baltimore. There was track work on-going in the area.
Some of these cars were marked as carrying chemicals like hypochlorite solution, so it's a good thing this wasn't more serious.
As of 7am, Amtrak trains along the northeast corridor are severely delayed or canceled, but the tracks are expected to be cleared in the next hour or so.
