The NordicTrack Elite Treadmill is a new treadmill for 2022 that is available along with the NordicTrack Incline Trainers. The Elite has a lot in common with these treadmills. It inclines up to 40% and declines to -5%, so it’s perfect for hiking and hard workouts in general. The 3.6 HP motor should handle heavier use and all kinds of activities from walking all the way up to sprinting.
The design of the NordicTrack Elite is new to NordicTrack and to us. Instead of having steel upright on either side of the deck extending up to the console, the Elite has a singular upright that looks like a giant column. This column is multi-functional with it holding the console and handles in place, and also concealing wires, and inclining the deck.
The deck has a lower profile than the Incline Trainers so it is much easier to step on and off of. One thing we did notice is that the deck visibly shifts from side to side when walking and running on it. This might be because the treadmill doesn’t have an upright on either side of the deck. It doesn’t make the treadmill feel less stable, though.
The NordicTrack Elite is heavy at 505 up to 520 lbs depending on which screen size you purchase. It doesn’t fold and since it’s so heavy, we only recommend it to users who have a designated space for it. There are transportation wheels on the front, however.
The Elite comes with the choice of a 22” or 32” touch screen that’s enabled with iFit. iFit comes free for the first month with a purchase of the treadmill. One of my favorite things about the screen is that no matter which size you get, the screen can be tilted and pivoted from side to side so you can use it for training content on and off the treadmill deck. We have the 22” touch screen on this treadmill and we noticed some screen wobble when we run.
iFit has over 16,000 classes to choose from and we love their outdoor classes that are filmed on every continent around the world. With all these classes you can take a run through part of the Boston Marathon and then finish it up with a stretch on a beautiful tropical beach. iFit is definitely valuable on the Elite Treadmill and we recommend subscribing.
Overall, the design of the NordicTrack Elite is sleek and very streamlined. We are happy to see another high inclining treadmill from NordicTrack in addition to the Incline Trainers that we love.

The Horizon T101 Treadmill continues to be an affordable, compact, lightweight, foldable treadmill. This is the new model for this year and it has received some nice updates.
To save you room, the deck folds up using a hydraulic system to give you assistance when lifting the deck. When it’s unfolded, it slowly lowers to the floor itself. Moving the T101 is also pretty easy since it only weighs around 180 lbs. You just have to tilt it back when it’s folded to engage the front wheels to move it around.
The Horizon T101 has a quiet 2.5 HP motor that’s responsive and quick to adjust. We recommend the T101 for walking and jogging primarily. It goes up to 10 mph and the deck inclines up to 10% to offer nice training options. This range is comparable to treadmills that are priced a little higher than the T101.
Considering that this treadmill is well under $1000, the Horizon T101 is an excellent bang for your buck. Not only is it affordable, but the construction is solid and durable. When we run on the deck, everything stays really steady and it performs like models that are more expensive.
What makes the T101 compact and great for homes is the 20” wide by 55” long deck. Users with long running strides might not be able to fully run on the deck, but if you have a shorter stride, you should be able to use the T101 at its higher speeds. The cushioning in the deck is also forgiving and comparable to higher-end treadmills.
The only aspect of the T101 that we think could use a few minor improvements is the console. It has limited tech, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There are included onboard workouts and the option to place your device on the tray to stream whatever you want. You can even pair your phone to the speakers to play your own music. The only thing is the speakers aren’t very loud - my iPhone speaker is louder in comparison. There also isn’t the ability to connect a heart rate monitor to track your heart rate on the treadmill. You can only track it on the display by holding the front handles which have pulse grips.
Beyond a few things on the console, there’s not much we don’t like about the Horizon T101. If you’re looking for a small treadmill for walking and jogging, this one is a great pick.
