The deadly gunfight that erupted at the Bite of Seattle last month is taking on a new focus beyond tracking down any remaining suspects. Many are asking how city leaders can keep this kind of tragedy from happening again.

One local nonprofit said the key is reaching young people before they pick up a gun, and that intensive work has to start long before police are ever called.
