Nolan’s Neck and Throat Were Never Sent to the Independent Autopsy.
There are still important questions surrounding Nolan’s death that deserve clear, thorough answers.
According to the independent autopsy in Washington, D.C., Nolan’s neck and throat were not sent by the Mississippi coroner with the rest of his body. The independent pathologist also noted an area of red discoloration on the back of Nolan’s head that raised significant concern. At this time, the independent autopsy has not ruled out the possibility of foul play.
Nolan’s family is asking that his neck and throat be sent for further examination and that investigators determine whether Nolan entered the water conscious or unconscious. Those are critical questions that remain unanswered.
Less than an hour after Nolan’s body washed ashore, the sheriff’s department publicly stated there was no foul play and classified the death as an accidental drowning. Since then, the boat has been washed, eliminating potential evidence.
Other circumstances have also left the family searching for answers. Nolan’s mother had to personally track down his cell phone. The friends who had been with him on the boat did not immediately turn it over, and there was a lengthy wait before one of them returned with the phone.
The same confusion surrounded Nolan’s car keys. When Nolan’s father went to retrieve his son’s vehicle, the friend who had been on the boat told him he did not have the keys. Later, a young woman who had been at the house earlier that day called Nolan’s family and said the keys were sitting on top of an Xbox. Nolan’s father returned to the house, told the friend exactly where the keys were, and the friend then came back with them. Nolan’s father looked at him and said, “You lied to me. Now I don’t trust you.”
