Happening Now [Posted at 10pm on Jan. 13, 2026]: Hundreds of protesters are holding a noise demo outside of the Graduate by Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis where ICE agents are reportedly staying. Drums, guitars, pots and pans are in-tune to "fuck ICE" and "ICE out" chants. Riot police are currently in the lobby.
Last Friday, over 1,000 protesters visited two hotels in downtown Minneapolis equipped with loud noise makers, in an attempt to disrupt the sleep of any ICE officers who may be staying in the hotels. ~30 people were arrested in a large police operation.📽️

Organizers say 200,000 protesters gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol for the third national #NoKings protest, with Saint Paul chosen as the flagship event. National speakers and musicians flocked to Minnesota to take part in what organizers called the largest protest in Minnesota history.
From more than three locations around St. Paul, masses of people descended on the capitol on Saturday afternoon. This was only one of over 3,300 actions across the country and the larger event among dozens of others across the Twin Cities metro.

A large police riot occurred in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by Customs and Border Patrol agents on Jan. 24. Masses of crowd control munitions were used on hundreds of community members gathered around Nicollet Avenue in south Minneapolis. Federal agents, Hennepin County Sheriffs, Minneapolis Police, MN State Patrol, and Minnesota Conservation Officers all worked together to violently suppress the organic protest in sub-zero temperatures.
