Four days after Daunte Wright was killed by police, large protests continued in front of the Brooklyn Center police station in Minnesota. This video is the HD version of UR's live stream coverage from April 14, 2021.
At the end of this 3-hour video, which is mostly in infrared mode for increased visibility in the nighttime, features an edited clip of police detaining journalists, including a UR journo, breaking multiple microphones and stealing UR's mic flag.

Background: On April 11, 2021, former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter fatally shot unarmed 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop. Community outrage at Wright’s killing was swift and widespread despite the massive National Guard and police build-up for the Derek Chauvin trial happening just a few miles away from where Wright was killed.
Wright's killer was later convicted of both first and second-degree manslaughter and sentenced to 24 months in prison on February 18, 2022. After serving 16 months in Minnesota Correctional Facility-Shakopee, Potter was released from prison. Potter then moved to Wisconsin and gets paid to deliver presentations at law enforcement conferences.

Organizers say 200,000 protesters gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol for the third national #NoKings protest, with Saint Paul chosen as the flagship event. National speakers and musicians flocked to Minnesota to take part in what organizers called the largest protest in Minnesota history.
From more than three locations around St. Paul, masses of people descended on the capitol on Saturday afternoon. This was only one of over 3,300 actions across the country and the larger event among dozens of others across the Twin Cities metro.

A large police riot occurred in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by Customs and Border Patrol agents on Jan. 24. Masses of crowd control munitions were used on hundreds of community members gathered around Nicollet Avenue in south Minneapolis. Federal agents, Hennepin County Sheriffs, Minneapolis Police, MN State Patrol, and Minnesota Conservation Officers all worked together to violently suppress the organic protest in sub-zero temperatures.
