Winter is the best time to strengthen your Kidney Qi (energy) and also when we should set aside time to give them extra TLC and support.
Even though winter officially starts in December, in TCM it’s already here now!
This Qi Gong exercise is like a no-cost “energy supplement” that’s simple, easy and can be done anywhere, anytime. Although the best time is between 5-7pm when your Kidney Qi is strongest.
HOW TO:
1. Use your fist to make circles along your lower back above your butt, and below your ribs. This area corresponds to your Kidney organ system. If you want to be exact, it’s approximately 1 to 2 inches to the left and the right of your second lumbar vertebra (L2).
As you circle here, get your back and hips into it so that your hands don’t get tired from doing all the movement. 1-5 minutes.
2. Along the same area, use your fist to gently tap the same area of your lower back to further stimulate your Kidney Qi. 1-5 minutes.
3. For extra strength, grab a fabulous friend like @themartyharper to join you!
