Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains are as remote and wild as they come in the American West. In this three day backpacking trip, I venture several miles off trail to the aptly named Wilderness Basin, camping at its head beneath soaring granite spires. I then summit Cloud Peak, the highest peak in the Bighorns and one of the most prominent in the United States. Join me in discovering the ruggedness, isolation, and solitude that makes the Wyoming mountains so special.
This is quite possibly the first exploration of Wilderness Basin and ascent of Cloud Peak from its northern aspect put to film, so I hope I did the place justice!
