No need to crave an institution's stamp of approval in order to validate yourself to some arbitrary culture-driven standard of success. The same applies to silly "American Dream" peddled ambitions of living "large and in charge" in a big golden house with 2.0 kids, in hopes of one day seeing the kids become your clones. Quite pathetic how in 2009, yearnings which are derived from patently crude psychology and biology (which we now understand) can still be interpreted as ladders towards reaching some punctilious sense of accomplishment.
There are already enough problems we've created which are in dire need of cleaning up. Why not focus your time on those before breeding more of it into existence? Pure ego, that's why.
If this comes off as too self-righteous, it's a small price to pay. I'll swallow the charges against my character as long as it'll get people to think about the actual topic at hand.
