In 2007, Katrina Carlson's cover of Howard Jones' iconic song, "No One is to Blame," went #1 in Los Angeles and #19 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Howard Jones generously contributed his original vocals and keyboards to the track. Katrina always admired Jones' music so she was thrilled and honored to collaborate with him on this classic from the '80's.
The song, in its original version, can be found on Jones' second studio album, "Dream into Action," which was released in 1985. A more radio-friendly version was released as a single in March 1986 with Phil Collins and Hugh Padgham producing the re-recording, with Collins adding his own drum work and mood. It became Howard Jones' biggest hit in the United States, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also became the first of his two #1 songs on the U.S.
Katrina Carlson enjoyed collaborating in the studio and also playing the song with Jones live onstage. Carlson adds "Every aspect of Jone's original version is stellar and has held up through the decades; from his songwriting to the arrangement and production and on to the authentic and beautiful sentiment of the lyrics, No One is to Blame still rings true and I hope my version does the same!"
