Our mission at Crazy Amazing Humans is to highlight stories of people from all walks of life who are a part of solutions; people who use their time, talent and resources to give back and extend kindness in whatever way they have chosen. With moving and inspiring stories from guests ranging from Dr. Tom Catena, the only doctor serving a million people in the Nuba Mountains, to Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times, to Jonathan Mooney who claims that "Normal Sucks", we think you will be motivated to be a crazy amazing human yourself just by hearing their stories. We hope to help you discover your own strengths and find ways to be a difference maker in your own community. We want to be a positive influence on anyone who wants to be inspired, feel encouraged, and do good by showing how both large and small choices of extending kindness and good works can make an important difference in the world. We've all heard the phrase "it’s better to give than to receive." But did you know that this is actually backed up by research? While it’s easy to feel too busy or stressed to help others or volunteer somewhere, evidence shows that doing good for others is actually beneficial for your mental health and well-being. It can help reduce stress, improve mood, self-esteem, longevity and happiness. To rephrase the above: "You receive when you give!"
Our vision is to create, connect and grow an ever-expanding community of like-minded people. This vision includes encouraging people to recognize their own potential, potential that perhaps they didn’t realize they had, to impact their communities and the world for the better. Our vision means we celebrate choices that make the world a better place and do so in a way that shows that all of us have this capacity. We can choose to use our talents and passions to, as Thoreau said, “live the life you have imagined.” Living and giving to help others not only helps those you are assisting; it fulfills a sense of purpose in you personally when you do the giving.
