This is the sequel to "No More Smiling", a short film I made as my midterm project for my Media Arts II class. "No More Smiling II: Redemption" serves as my final project for the class. Like the first installment, the film is set in the distant future where happiness has been forbidden across the world, as people believe it makes others feel disadvantaged. Officer Adrian Romeli makes a decision to go against his superiors, and help an old friend deliver a message that could bring a force for change.
As I did with my Media Arts I projects, I directed, wrote, filmed, edited and scored the film. The film stars returning cast members Gabe Sagherian, Austin Brinser and Michael Behrenshauser as Adrian Romeli, Damien and Andrew Butler, respectively. Ryan Grier joins the cast in a major role as Walter Hoskins, who is Romeli's partner.
Michael Robinson, Luke Johnson, Kyle Carozzi, Jacob Huber and Jack Morris return to cameo in the film, with Jack returning in a vocal cameo. Jess Antonacci, Matt Gale, Pat Bischke and Jordan Winfield also make their acting debuts through cameos in the film. Special thanks to Chris Lombardo and Jacob Huber for serving as stand-ins for two characters.
