Almost three months ago, our graduation project film, The Legend of the Creepy Guy in the Woods, was finally released after many months of hard work. I'm proud to present the film's original motion picture score, containing over two hours of music that I composed all by myself. I created all the themes featured in the score, and spent several months working hard to complete it. Almost every character you see in the image of the video had an original theme written for them in the film. I used Logic Pro X to write the score.
This was my first project where I composed an original soundtrack, and doing so was extremely difficult and fun at the same time. I encountered many obstacles while scoring the film, but ultimately I'm pleased with how the music turned out. It was very fun writing new music while also incorporating themes that I'd already developed for the project. Now, some self-critiquing: the instruments I used could've been better, and the music could've used more depth in parts. Ultimately, my goal was to make the best with what I had, with both the equipment and the time I had. So, with this as my first attempt at writing a full-length film score, I'm proud of what I've accomplished. Many thanks to the cast members for making this film possible, and to our mentor, Brian Hassel, for supervising the project.
