In October of 1988, Nickel Plate Road 587 pulled 2 excursions to Bloomington, Indiana. Taking place over the Weekend of October 29th & 30th, 587 would venture to Bloomington for an Indiana University Football Game against Iowa State University(Held on October 29th, IU beat Iowa, 45 to 34). following the passengers disembarking, a Local group of passengers who payed a 10 Dollar ticket fee boarded the train for local trip over the Tulip Trestle, a Former Illinois Central Railroad Bridge. this video is footage from that side trip from Bloomington to the Trestle and back, along with footage of the return trip to Indianapolis. 587 would venture back down to Bloomington, on October 30th due to the popularity of the ticket sales minus the side trip to Tulip Trestle from the prior day.
