Verified repair, code is gone! This video details the resolution of the p0455 and/or p0456 code for the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder (and related Frontier and other trucks). In part 1 I changed a number of things to no avail, though they did need to be changed as they were brittle and obviously compromised.
In this video I detail the changing of the vapor canister vent solenoid. This is a very easy job, just jack the car up and remove a few things, it took about 30 minutes total start to finish. Everything is self explanatory and you don't need to remove the vapor canister as my video details.
I am sure this resolved my problem for 2 reasons. Reason one is that before starting the car it had no codes, but immediately after changing the solenoid I started the car and it immediately threw the code, which I cleared, and it did not come back. This tells me that the car sensed air in the system (from the part exchange) and threw the same code it was throwing initially. Reason two is that I tested (as in the video) the old solenoid and it did not work.
