-NISAR, a satellite that will provide a three-dimensional view of Earth in unprecedented detail, is set to lift off at 8:10 a.m. EDT (5:40 p.m. IST), Wednesday, July 30, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre on India’s southeastern coast.
A collaboration between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the first-of-its-kind satellite will launch aboard an ISRO Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle on a mission to scan nearly all the Earth’s land and ice surfaces twice every 12 days.
Join us for a live teleconference with mission experts as we head into launch. The participants are:
- Karen St. Germain, director of Earth science, NASA
- Gerald Bawden, NISAR program scientist, NASA
- Shanna McClain, Disasters program manager, NASA
- Phil Barela, NISAR project manager, NASA JPL
- Marco Lavalle, NISAR deputy project scientist, NASA JPL
