A few years ago, I made a director's cut/shortened version of my first Ninjago film, as its running time was rather long. I've hoped to do the same thing with the second film since it runs at four hours. So, at long last, here is the director's cut of Ninjago: Rise of the Great Devourer! This version of the film is two hours shorter than the original one, and I feel it provides a more cohesive, watchable and enjoyable final product. The film stars the voices of Jack Morris, Joe Teddick, Ryan Bowman, Douglas Garthwaite, OonieandCacola, Jack Hillebrecht, Tom McCabe, Davy Smet and many others. Although I'm in the midst of working on the third film, Age of the Golden Master, I decided to spend the last few weeks re-editing the second film. I've realized it's difficult for many people to sit down and watch the original four-hour version in its entirety, and with the new film coming out, I wanted to give people an "easier means" of watching it. Plus, this director's cut is something I've wanted to make for a while. With this version of the film, all of the scenes are shortened, and some are removed entirely. There are various scenes that were rescored as well.
I did face a major obstacle with editing this. For the film's last three parts, I created files without any music in them, meaning I could completely reconstruct scenes. However, I never did this for the first two parts, so I had to be more careful with blending the music whenever I cut out shots. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy!
