As mentionned before, a friend gave me a Nikon Keymission 360 to test. I carried it around for a good month, shot some fun images wherever I was at the time, then decided to buy one of my own.
Except for some very specific situations, I'm not a huge fan of the unprocessed 360° format, per se, where you allow your viewer to turn his back and look around freely as the video plays. I feel it sort of undermines the job of the filmmaker to tell a story, create a narrative and demand the attention of the viewer.
However I still absolutely lóve this cam and its omnidirectional lens, because it allows the filmmaker to shoot in every direction and steer the fantastic 4k image in awesome ways in the cutting room, which is so much fun and absolutely leads in a new era in filmmaking. I also like the fact that Nikon is giving GoPro some healthy competition, which will also push these products forward and keep the prices democratic. I'm a fan of go pro as well, but my stomach turned when I see the prices of their stupid little plastic accessories. #keymission360 #nikon
(the music is an unfinished little cover I'm making with Leningrad of the song 'prayer in c' by Lilly Wood and the prick)
