Bishop Dr. Kevin A. Williams and Bro. Ty Bellamy
On behalf of New Jerusalem Churches of Sound Doctrine, Presiding Prelate Bishop Dr. Kevin A. Williams, Mother Florence P. Williams, New Jerusalem Cathedral, and our entire fellowship of churches, we acknowledge with profound sadness the passing of our beloved Sis. Nikki L. Ross Bellamy, who transitioned on August 14, 2026.
Sis. Nikki was more than an extraordinary voice. She was a beloved daughter of this ministry whose remarkable gift carried her before audiences around the world, while her roots remained deeply connected to her church family. Her voice was unmistakable, her presence unforgettable, and the impact of her music and ministry reached far beyond the walls of the church.
She was deeply loved by her church, cherished by her Bishop, and embraced by a community that celebrated the tremendous gift God placed within her. While countless people came to know Sis. Nikki through her music and public ministry, we had the privilege of knowing and loving the woman behind the voice.
During this time, New Jerusalem Churches of Sound Doctrine extends its deepest love, prayers, and heartfelt condolences to her husband Bro. Ty Bellamy, their children, their entire family, loved ones, friends, and the countless people whose lives were touched by her extraordinary journey. We stand with them in prayer and surround them with the love and strength of our entire church family.
The world heard her voice. We knew her heart.
Both have left an indelible mark that will not be forgotten.

We learned today of the passing of gospel music singer Nikki Ross Bellamy. She died on August 14, 2026, at age 54, having recently attended the Gospel Music Workshop of America despite struggling with illness.
Nikki L. Ross Bellamy, one of Houston gospel music’s most distinctive and celebrated voices, died Aug. 14. She was 54.
Her passing was announced by New Jerusalem Churches of Sound Doctrine, where Ross Bellamy was a longtime member. The church described her as a beloved daughter of the ministry whose extraordinary voice carried her before audiences around the world while she remained deeply connected to her church family.
