Let's start with the title to set the record straight from the get-go. Möbius (or moebius) references the "Möbius strip" which in poetic language refers to an endless cycle or an unbreakable loop. In this song it symbolizes being trapped in an emotional loop—no escape, no resolution, just sorrow on repeat for eternity.
If you remember the lyrics of Dasei Boogie, this is a direct continuation of the same theme we explored back then of digital obsession, inescapable repetition and spiraling, emotional decay.
In this song however Sakito adds a reference to Adam & Eve which probably is my favourite line of the entire song because he references his love as the "Garden of Eden"—the ideal, lost and unreachable. It's like he's stuck in a purgatory in which he just keeps on coming back even though he knows this place slowly corrodes him because here—his love still exists.
He can salvage old data, he can chase that burning shadow, he can try again because the moment he admits that his love is unrequited is the moment he ceases to exist.
Because, in the end, what does he have to return to? A monochrome reality where she didn't even exist to begin with?
When you dissect these lyrics they're so achingly devastating and it makes me love and appreciate them all the more.
