Back in the Forest of Myth, the mayor tells the protagonist that something is going on with the divine tree that the villagers are not allowed to visit unless for prayer. Talking to the tree initiates another text sequence. The tree seems to be filled with memories of the very distant past and has become less potent over time, and also appears to be possessed by a Shade that has the ability of rational thought.

The grown-up Yonah, watched over by the Shadowlord, rises from her bed and begins walking to towards her father. Instead of walking towards the main character, though, she walks over to the Shadowlord and tells him that she feels bad for stealing Replicant Yonahs body. Even though the Gestalt Project worked, Yonah is still destined to die since her Replicant copy was created from an already-afflicted image, and she would rather let the Replicant be with her father. She then walks towards the window and leaves the Replicant body.")

The opening sequence to one of the greatest games of this generation, NIER.
Taking place after the true ending of Drakengard 3, the story revolves around an older man who is looking for a cure for his fatally-ill daughter named Yonah and around mysterious creatures called Shades that threaten the world. Other characters include Kaine and Emil that follow the protagonist throughout the story. Grimoire Weiss is the book that the protagonist uses to cast magic, and is also a hilarious sarcastic character. The game has an amazing story that blows your mind at the very end. I played through this game last January on PS3, and now Ill be doing it again and recording it on Xbox.
