Back in The Aerie, the protagonist finds Kaine fighting off a bunch of shades, and she tells him that the shades have overrun the town. When they get to the town, the large scorpion-like shade from before attacks them. After fighting it off for a while, it begins to make Kaine hallucinate about her grandmother, but she quickly realizes it was an illusion. After defeating it, Kaine joins the party after a speech from Weiss.")
