Here's an essential but often overlooked chapter of guitar history. Exactly a century ago, Nick Lucas recorded "Teasin' the Frets" and "Pickin' the Guitar," the first notable guitar solos on record. He went on to become America's first guitar hero, paving the way for everybody from Chuck Berry and Jimi Hendrix to Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani.
