Fans of Selling Sunset were shocked to hear Bre Tiesi say that Nick Cannon doesn’t have to pay child support.
Bre Tiesi's lawyer, Neama Rahmani, has issued a response following the claims made by the Selling Sunset star on the show regarding child support from Nick Cannon, the father of her 10-month-old son, Legendary Love.
Tiesi had stated that the court could potentially rule that Cannon doesn't have to pay child support after having a certain number of children or because of his financial status.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Rahmani expressed disagreement with Tiesi's claims, stating, "Bre, you should know better! That is absolutely not true.
There's no cap on child support based on the number of children. So, to the extent that Nick Cannon can have babies, he owes child support for those babies under California law."
He clarified that Cannon has a legal obligation to pay child support and that Tiesi's understanding of the situation is incorrect.
Further addressing the issue in a statement to ET, Rahmani clarified his earlier response, stating, "I was clarifying that Nick has a legal obligation to pay child support under California law.
I didn't address whether the mothers of his children have requested child support or whether Nick has paid it to Bre or others."
Rahmani sought to clarify that his initial statement focused on the legal obligation rather than the specific circumstances surrounding Tiesi and Cannon's situation.
Aside from their son Legendary Love, Cannon has children with several other women, including Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, Alyssa Scott, LaNisha Cole, and Mariah Carey.
Tiesi made it clear that she does not consider Cannon to be her "sugar daddy."
She asserted that she is self-sufficient and capable of taking care of herself and her child, stating, "I can make crazy money by myself. I can carry my lifestyle, which is not cheap.
I can carry my child and my own s**t."Rahmani supported Tiesi's statement, describing her as a successful actress, model, and real estate agent who has been independent throughout her life.
He acknowledged her good relationship with Cannon and commended him as a good father. However, Rahmani emphasized that a significant portion of Cannon's reported $100 million annual income should go toward child support for the mothers of his children.
