Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" has to be one of the greatest songs ever written. And while being deceptively simple, it also turns out to be one of the most challenging. It's taken me many years to formulate an approach to the song that I really resonated with, and I have Joselito (piano) and Shawn (guitar) to thank for helping me put this all together.
Last summer, we had an opportunity to record a live set with Vivace, a group of filmmakers who film musicians performing out in nature. This was such an incredible experience that allowed me to combine music and nature, but also pushed me to create a setlist and live arrangements. Big thanks to Shawn and Joselito for driving out with me to perform the set, and to the Vivace team for their vision, hospitality, and collaboration!
