Vanilla JavaScript is a powerful tool. Let me show you how you can use it on your website to create new and unique effects. It's time for creative coding experiments! :) In this tutorial we will build next level vanilla JavaScript UI animations. Let's create fire, liquid and constellations particle effects and attach them to buttons on hover. This purely front end codebase will be built with plain vanilla JavaScript, HTML, CSS and HTML5 canvas element. I feel like people don't take advantage of powerful visual tools HTML5 canvas offers, let me show you how to create a couple of beautiful 2D particle effects and practice vanilla JavaScript techniques at the same time.

![CSS Filters - SVG Turbulence Filter Animation [ CSS3 Creative Menu Hover Effects ] Squigglevision
Lets take a look at CSS filters, specifically SVG turbulence animation (and displacement map) which apply perlin noise effect to any HTML element. It can also be applied to HTML canvas so you can try to combine it with any of the canvas effects we created in previous videos. Lets create really cool CSS3 creative menu hover effects also known as Squigglevision.
I have used CSS filters before to create sticky liquid effect. To achieve that we first blur the elements and then we apply strong contrast to make the famous flowing goo effect.
Today I will show you how to rapidly iterate between 5 distortion states using turbulence and displacement map inline SVG filters and how to tweak the effect to create your own variations
There is a patented cartoon animation technique called Squigglevision and we will recreate it with CSS. It was used for shows like Dr Katz and it is a computer animation style, that is supposed to remind viewer of hand drawn animation sketches. It is characteristic by shaking squiggly lines even when the characters are standing still.
Squigglevision cartoon technique is much faster to produce than hand drawn animation, because its made using computer. The shaking lines are done by looping 5 slighly different images over and over.

![JavaScript project tutorial for beginners [HTML Canvas Particles]
Do you want to bring your website to life? In todays JavaScript project tutorial for beginners I will take you through a step by step process on how to create your first particle system on HTML canvas element. We will give particles physics (wind and gravity) and we will learn how to make particles bounce. Then in the second part of this tutorial we will set up collision detection with a regular website element, for example h1 title element, but it will work with any HTML element you choose.
Welcome to my JavaScript laboratory where we practice HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create all different kinds of interactive animated effects. That includes games, generative art, webdesign elements and much more. In each JavaScript tutorial I take you step by step through the code base as we build our project from scratch.
And thats not all, we dont use any libraries or frameworks so not only we build cool stuff, but in the process we also learn fundamental JavaScript techniques. These techniques are completely transferable to other kinds of front end web development projects and will help you to pass your coding interview and get your first programming job.
My name is Frank and I am a self taught Front End Web Developer. I learned everything I know in my free time from structured Udemy courses and YouTube project tutorials just like this one. If I could do it you can do it to.

I have always loved optical illusions, they reveal interesting things about how our brain pieces visual input together to make sense of what we are looking at. I also like HTML CSS and front end web development in general and I have always wanted to create a project where I put these two things together. In todays CSS animation tutorial for beginners we will build our own optical illusion and make it into interactive animated background effect. We will learn how to animate gradients with CSS and how to use 2 uncommon CSS3 selectors - adjacent sibling combinator (+) and general sibling combinator (~). Have fun :D
