Filmed on the Iris webcam, this review looks at all the features of the Nexigo Iris and has a complete walkthrough of all the menus and configuration options. It also has direct comparisons between the MacBook webcam in low-light conditions.

These higher price options from Nexigo (N970p, Iris) are a massive step up from regular sub £100 cameras. They offer flexibility and complete customisation of advanced camera settings, including exposure, shutter, gain, white balance, sharpness and noise reduction.
All these settings are stored on-camera rather than in software so that if you move your camera and use it on a different device, the configuration remains. All webcams should be made in this way. Unfortunately, they're not.
The raw performance, image quality and features of this camera make you forgive the fact that it's big, bulky, heavy (for a webcam) and a bit dated-looking. It's expensive, but it's really much more than a webcam.
Hopefully, the demo and images in the video will help you decide if it's right for you.
00:00 - Pros & Cons
00:45 - Nexigo Iris vs MacBook
01:52 - Audio Test
05:42 - Features Overview
17:03 - Menu and Configuration
27:45 - Noise Reduction & Low Light Test
30:55 - Final Thoughts
NOTE: This is a 4K webcam, but I have filmed and captured this in FHD because, in most cases, that's the highest you will ever be streaming via a video call (more likely HD) in 2022, so this gives you a good indication of how well the camera will perform for others. I will do several follow-up videos looking at the 4K aspects and the HDMI output.
