This was our first visit to New Zealand and we were there to visit English friends in Ngunguru who had recently emigrated and built a huge house on the peninsular they owned. First of all we did explore Auckland and went to see where the French Secret Service allegedly had blown up Green Peace's Rainbow Warrior. We explored the Bay of Islands and watched the huge number of Dolphins that chased the boat.

It took me back to my youth when I would watch Jack Cousteau explore the area on a 'Black and White' TV and really started my interest in boats and the sea. I also recalled that versatile Minesweeper that became RV Calypso and the horror that finally befell this icon TV Star in later life. We also tried to drown one of my cameras doing a photo shoot on 90 Mile beach and of course visited the incredible collection of animals our friends had collected on their farm in Whangaumu Bay.
