Architect and interior designer Tony Ingrao, founder of the New York–based Ingrao Inc., takes us through 721 North Bonhill, the studio’s debut project in Los Angeles.
Set across four thoughtfully designed levels, this hillside home balances openness with privacy, modernity with warmth. The entry level centers around connection—with expansive entertaining areas, a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and a dual-sided fireplace anchoring the space. The kitchen blends function and form, featuring retractable doors, reeded glass cabinets, and striking slabs of invisible blue stone.
Above, five bedroom suites offer quiet retreats, including a primary suite that was carefully positioned to take in treetop and mountain views. The design layers soft textures and natural materials to create a feeling of comfort within the architecture. Each of the two primary bathrooms reflects a distinct tone—one darker and more intimate, the other lighter and more expansive.
Below, the lower level includes a private gym, spa, gallery, and wine cellar, while a rooftop terrace offers panoramic views from the mountains to the ocean. Outside, tiered decks, a pool, and a side lawn create multiple places to gather or unwind.
From material choices to spatial flow, every decision in this home was guided by clarity and cohesion. It’s a modern Los Angeles home that feels grounded, open, and entirely livable.
