Out and about Walking in Taynton
So, this is my first walk of 2023 on the first day of 2023 in a gorgeous little Cotswold village called Taynton. The village is located around 1 & 1/2 miles northwest of Burford in West Oxfordshire and has a tributary of the river Windrush running through it called the Coombe Brook. At the last census it had a population of just over 100 people.
The village has it's own parish church, the church of Saint John the Evangelist and dates back to around 1360.
There are a few new build houses within the village which have been sympathetically built in the traditional Cotswold style thus fitting in nicely with the older dwellings and overall feel & charm of the village.
There was one lane I purposely missed out in the village whereby there was a lot of building works underway and felt at the time that the video would not benefit from this being included. I would like to a revisit in the Spring especially as there was a little problem with my new camera which resulted in slight rotational movement of the image every now and again due to a setting switched on within the camera that then conflicted with the gimbal (my first use of the camera). I hope this does not spoil your viewing pleasure too much...
