We’ve officially expanded our footprint in New South Wales, acquiring Mongo Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in the Northern Rivers.
Located near Casino, on Bundjalung Country, the 1,260-hectare sanctuary spans eucalypt forest, sandstone escarpments and pockets of critically endangered lowland rainforest. It's predicted to support more than 250 native vertebrate species, including Koalas and the threatened Kate’s Leaf-tailed Gecko.
The acquisition was made possible thanks to an agreement with conservation partners Aussie Ark, WildArk, Re:Wild, and the Australian Reptile Park.
It brings us another step closer to our 2035 goal of protecting 5% of Australia.
