The clock is now ticking for every water utility in Maryland and nationwide to find and replace their lead water pipes. It comes after the Biden administration and the Environmental Protection Agency announced a new federal rule on Tuesday requiring all lead pipes to be replaced within 10 years. The announcement also comes after the Biden administration announced $15 billion in federal funds to help communities find and replace their lead pipes.
