Streets remained closed and power outages lingered Monday after an underground fire over the weekend at the intersection of Charles and Pleasant streets in Baltimore. Fire officials said units were called around 3:30 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of North Charles Street for a fire from a manhole at the intersection of Charles and Pleasant streets. The fire was extinguished by 8:30 a.m. Sunday, and power was still out in the surrounding area as of Monday morning. BCFD said a firefighter was taken to a hospital with a minor injury. No others were reported to be injured.
