Note: We had to trim the first few minutes because of an audio issue. Please forgive the abrupt start!
OpenMV's first two AI-accelerated camera modules are now funding on Kickstarter! These Python-powered devices can capture, process, and respond to chosen stimuli in a single script. The higher-powered OpenMV N6 features a 1 GHz onboard NPU, and is capable of running Multi-Object Detection Models like YOLO onboard at 30+ FPS. The OpenMV AE3 – the smallest and lowest-power OpenMV Cam ever made – features two AI-capable cores, one of which can run accelerated models against low-bandwidth data types while the high-performance core is asleep. This allows the device to potentially run on batteries for multiple years, while improving upon the framerate from previous OpenMV offerings. Kwabena Agyeman returns to Hackster Café for a chat with Alex Glow.
