techdaemon | New Moongel anti-vibe mount and compact groundstation testing. @techdaemn | Uploaded January 2014 | Updated October 2024, 4 minutes ago.
Weather has been alternating between too cold, or too windy to fly for weeks.
Finally had a few minutes of low wind just before sunset to test out my new Moongel camera mount under sunlit conditions, and 2nd flight with my new compact backpack based ground station (shown at the end).
Moongel mount results are good so far, but need to test again when there's more sun, and colder temps. Goal is to have good jello-free video at sub freezing temps where
the earplug based anti-vibe mount doesn't work at all.
The new ground station is basically just a receiver and splitter strapped to a stick, which is then attached to the extending handle on my wheeled backpack. It all fits inside the backpack, but is about the same height as my normal tripod in use.
BTW, the video was uploaded in 3K (3072x1728) Check out the difference
in fast moving ground detail between 1080p and 1440p resolution options.
