In this Jedi Survivor news update video we do a complete breakdown of the 9 minutes of brand new Star Wars Jedi Survivor gameplay that was released by IGN earlier today as a part of their IGN First program. In this gameplay we learn that Cal Kestis and BD-1 have crash landed on a new planet named Koboh after a secret mission goes wrong. On this planet Cal and BD-1 are searching for Greez (confirming that this character will be returning from Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order). Throughout this gameplay we get a great look at how the combat and lightsaber combat will work in Jedi Survivor, new force abilities, a new ultimate ability, how much wildlife there is, more information about this new mysterious faction that utilizes reprogrammed battle droids and super battle droids, and get a sense as to how large the free roam and open world gameplay is in Jedi Survivor. We also get a great look at the brand new holomap in the game.
This is just the beginning of the marketing cycle for Jedi Survivor as IGN has promised that we will be getting more exclusives, new gameplay, and interviews about Jedi Survivor throughout the rest of the month. Additionally, Games Radar released their exclusive interview with Respawn Game Director Stig Asmussen. Up until now all we have had for Jedi Survivor was the teaser trailer released at Star Wars Celebration and the Gameplay Trailer at The Game Awards.
Throughout that new gameplay trailer we got such a great insight into Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. We finally discovered who the person in the bacta tank: a former Jedi from the High Republic Era who appears to serve as the main villain of Jedi Survivor. We got our first look at new gameplay including the new lightsaber fighting styles and new force abilities. We also got our first look at the new planets and locations in the game and how much larger and more populated they are compared to the planets and locations in Jedi Fallen Order.
The Game Awards was already set to be an incredibly exciting show this year, especially with the hotly contested Game of the Year showdown between Elden Ring, Horizon: Forbidden West, and God of War: Ragnarok. Now it has become even more exciting as we got the new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor!
