Several New Haven teachers spoke out about the crumbling conditions of the schools they work at during the public comment portion of a Wednesday night hearing, which focused on the district’s facilities and what the plan is moving forward.
For next school year, the chief of school operations said that there are projects on the docket that include replacing heaters, windows and more. Some school buildings have been identified as a priority when it comes to replacing roofs and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
However, some New Haven Public Schools staff members say some of this construction work is essentially patching up issues as they arise.
