This roundabout opened yesterday (Nov. 17th, 2014), but it was pouring rain so I made the video today.
The only complaint I have with the roundabout is that it seems unsafe for cyclists. The bike lanes suddenly end where the road enters the roundabout, and I feel like some drivers will feel they have priority. Cyclists who aren't as confident biking in traffic might feel intimidated or confused when their lane just ends, and may be weary about taking the lane to make sure they can enter the roundabout safely. There are plenty of good designs the city could have adopted that integrate cars and bikes without confusion or threats to safety - something advocated by the Halifax Cycling Coalition during public consultations.
There is still considerable landscape work being done, but, on the whole, I think it looks great. The lights at this intersection were a major hindrance to traffic flow, especially during rush hours, and the roundabout will keep things moving smoothly.
