The Freelander 8 First Edition marks the return of a classic nameplate as a high-end off-road SUV developed through the "Joint Venture 3.0" between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover. As a Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (EREV), it utilizes a 60.3 kWh CATL battery to provide 137 miles of pure electric range, while a 1.5L turbo engine acts exclusively as a generator to keep you moving. This 560-horsepower, 3.5-tonne beast features an 800V architecture supporting 350 kW rapid charging and comes equipped with an intelligent all-terrain system featuring three locking differentials for serious off-road capability. The high-tech cabin is powered by a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 chip and includes a standard roof-mounted LiDAR sensor integrated with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 platform for automated driving assistance. Starting around 300,000 yuan, this luxury six-seater is launching first in China with plans to expand into the Middle East and European markets over the next five years.
