Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a California law requiring the state to develop a statewide e-bike training program for students in grades 7 through 12. By March 2028, the California Department of Education and California Highway Patrol must create the program, which will teach e-bike safety and rules of the road. The law received bipartisan support and comes as e-bike crashes are on the rise.
