I found this new denim tablecloth on a summer sale for $14!! It’s a great quality denim and about 3 yards of it! It had a really nice tan colored double stitched hem and I thought about somehow using it, but in the end, the metal zippers took over!
This is my Maiden Lane dress pattern with a new sleeve I’ve been playing with which will be coming soon on a new blouse pattern! I’m in love with it because it’s puffy without being too full.
For the zippers, I made 2 openings about 5 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and then slid the zippers behind and topstitched them down. I decided not to sew in actual pocket bags as to not add additional bulk in the hips, so they are just a visual effect. I don’t think I would realistically put anything in them if they were functional anyways!
I made this dress to wear to an indie music festival (with cowboy boots if I find a pair!) but It’ll be a good staple in the wardrobe!
