I spent all week sewing up this dress for a wedding this weekend! I used a lavender linen I've had in stash for a few years (!!) and finally found the reason to use it.

What's the green? It's a silk organza I used for the underlining.

Why green? Well, the white silk organza was 39.99 per meter and the green...it was on sale for 9.99 a meter. So...green! What would you choose?

You don't see it on the outside at all and I like the pop of color inside! And for me the price was right :-)

The underlining took forever to attach the linen and the silk together by hand before sewing. (A few rerun episodes of Sex and the City helped pass the time lol) But oh I'm so glad I did, I love the body it gives this dress. The side panels were bias cut and I love the movement. It's girly but feels so elegant on the body.

Matched this with leopard for a different look. What do you think? I covered the headband with the same fabric as the bag. Bag is my Beauty Bag PDF pattern (25% off till tomorrow!).

I really love the way this dress turned out and would like to make it again!
